Terang is an attractive rural centre graced with some lovely avenues of venerable trees. There are many historic buildings in Terang, including the former Terang Courthouse and Thomson Memorial Presbyterian Church (1893-94) which is one of the largest rural churches in Victoria. Also in Terang are Centenary Park, Terang Cottage Crafts and some fine accommodation. Noorat, 6 km north of Terang, is a small and attractive rural village at the foot of Mt Noorat. There is a walking track to the summit which offers fine views. The Ralph Illidge Sanctuary is 25 km south of Terang.
