Brighton is a bayside suburb of Melbourne located on 10 km from the city centre. Named after the famed English seaside resort, Brighton is prosperous and attractive. There was a time when it was planned that Brighton would become a major port. Today it is noted for the excellent Brighton St Andrews Anglican Church and the Brighton Cemetery is the resting place for both the poet Adam Lindsay Gordon and the novelist Rolf Boldrewood. Brighton has a good range of bed and breakfast and hotel accommodation.
