Blackburn is an outer residential suburb on the eastern side of Melbourne, adjacent the Maroondah Highway. A highlight of Blackburn is Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, a 26-hectare bushland reserve for wild birds. There are plenty of bushwalking and lakeside walking tracks, picnic facilities and parking. Just west of Blackburn is the historic suburb of Box Hill, to the east is Dandenong Ranges National Park and to the south-east are Churchill National Park and Lysterfield Lake Park. Blackburn has attractive bed-and-breakfast accommodation.
