Hotel & Motel Accommodation in Beaconsfield Upper, VictoriaBeaconsfield Upper is an attractive fruit-growing area at the eastern edge of the Melbourne metropolitan area. It was allegedly named after British prime minister Benjamin Disraeli whose title was the Earl of Beaconsfield. Both Beaconsfield and Beaconsfield Upper have been drawcards for holiday-makers as long ago as the 1870s when the railway system arrived. Gold was also discovered at Beaconsfield Upper in the 1870s but returns were slight and the diggings soon abandoned. Fine bed-and-breakfast accommodation is available at Beaconsfield Upper.
