Hotel & Motel Accommodation in Emerald, Queensland

Located on the Nogoa River, 263 km west of Rockhampton, Emerald has slowly grown to be the major regional centre of the Central Highlands. The Capricorn hinterland contains the largest sapphire gemfields in the world. Emerald's Historical Precinct is of interest although the most impressive building in Emerald is undoubtedly the Emerald Railway Station. The waters of Lake Maraboon have become a popular leisure haunt and outside the Emerald Town Hall is a piece of fossilised wood estimated to be 250 million years old. Some fine rural accommodation is available at Emerald.
