Hotel & Motel Accommodation in Morpeth, New South Wales

Morpeth is an exceptional little town located just 5 km north-east of Maitland. Formerly an important inland river port, Morpeth retains a remarkably intact 19th-century streetscape and a bucolic feel, owing to its beautiful setting on the banks of the Hunter River. Many of the distinctive and outstanding mid-19th century stone buildings of Morpeth now house shops selling gifts, arts and crafts, curios and other tourist-orientated paraphernalia. Highlights are Closebourne House (1826), Morpeth House (1852), Taylor's Bonded Stores (1850) and St James Anglican Church (1837-1877). Visitors to Morpeth can enjoy some fine accommodation.
